DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING
Facilities
The department has four labs for B.Tech students and one lab for M.Tech students. All the labs are equipped with latest Dell, Lenovo and HCL branded Desktop Computer systems. The processors in this systems are Intel Core i7, Core i5 with 4GB RAM . All these systems are providing internet connectivity. The whole labs are controlled by the Rack Server. All the documents and their lab works are stored in the server. Hence students can access their materials from anywhere in the campus through their login id and password.
National Knowledge Network (NKN)
The institution is facilitated with National Knowledge Network project by Government of Indian, which is aimed to establishing a strong and robust Indian network which will be capable of providing secure and reliable connectivity. For NKN project, a 100mbps dedicated leased line internet connectivity managing with Juniper MX80 Router has established in the Computer Science and Engineering department.
1. Computing Lab
This lab is used by the B.Tech students. This lab contains 30 nos. of HCL desktop systems. Practicals for Python programming, C and C++ Programming and Data structure lab are conducting in this lab.
2. System Programming Lab
This lab is used by the B.Tech students. This lab contains 30 nos of HCL desktop systems. Practicals for Language Processor, Network and OS lab and NASM labs are conducting in this lab.
3. DBMS & Graphics Lab
This lab is used by the B.Tech students. This lab contains 12 nos of Dell desktop systems and 14 nos of HCL desktop systems. Practicals for Computer Graphics and Minor projects are conducting in this lab.
4. Hardware & Internet Lab
The Hardware lab is equipped with all kinds of old and new machines. These include desktop systems, server systems and latest processors, disk drives, Interface Cards, etc for familiarizing students. Also 25 desktop systems are provided for accessing internet facility for all students.
5. Advanced Computing Lab
This lab is used by the M.Tech students. In this lab 15 nos of Lenova Desktop systems and 10 nos of Dell desktop systems. M.Tech projects and NS2 labs are conducting in this lab. Wifi facility is also provided in this lab.
Genuine Software
College of Engineering Munnar is a premium subscriber of Microsoft Dreamspark. Hence students will get a wider software products of Microsoft such as professional developer and designer tools on free of cost.
