DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
Facilities
The department posses well equipped four laboratories.
1). ELECTRICAL MACHINES LABORATORY
The objective of Electric Machine Laboratory is to impart knowledge about characteristics, behavior and operation of the DC and AC Machines. This lab consists of DC machines (Series, shunt and compound), Transformers, Induction machines (Squirrel cage and slip ring) and Synchronous machines. All machines are set up in the laboratory with the facility of full loading and these lab facilities are sufficient to conduct experiments as per the syllabus.
2). ELECTRICAL MEASUREMENTS LABORATORY
The objective of Electrical measurement laboratory is to impart knowledge about working and use of different electrical measuring instruments. This lab consists of dc and ac measuring instruments to measure voltage, current, power, energy, resistance, temperature and displacement. This lab equipped with digital and analogue ammeters, voltmeters, watt meters, energy meters, phase shifting transformers, different bridges, megger, single phase and three phase transformers and electrical components including rheostats, three phase resistive load and three phase inductive load.
3. POWER ELECTRONICS LABORATORY
Power electronics laboratory is intended for conducting various experiments using power electronic devices. The objective of the Power Electronics laboratory is to study the characteristics of switching devices and its applications in rectifier, inverter and choppers. This lab equipped with different power electronic devices and measuring instruments sufficient to conduct experiments related to power electronics.
4. ELECTRICAL WORKSHOP
The objective of Electrical workshop is to impart practical knowledge to the students about the different wiring schemes, familiarization of MCB and ELCB etc. This electrical workshop equipped with basic wiring tools, wiring accessories and fittings.
